Betty Mae McDermott Blair, 83, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away May 29, 2012, surrounded by members of her family.

Betty Bea was born September 10, 1928 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Henry Lucas McDermott and Clara Marie Petersen McDermott. She graduated from West High School and attended Brigham Young University. She married Tarlton Jr. Blair on August 26, 1948 in the Salt Lake Temple (later divorced). They moved to Murray, Utah in 1955, where Betty lived the rest of her life.

Betty was known for her fun-loving personality and always being the life of the party. She loved holidays, parties, primary songs, weddings, baby showers, road shows, and most of all, her family. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings but her two favorites were primary chorister and roadshow director. Betty also served a mission to South Africa from 1992-1994. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her and felt of her abundant love.

She is survived by her children, Tarlton Jay (TJ) Blair and his wife Lori, Kevan Blair and his wife Melanie, Tracey Daw and her husband Ronald, Holly Collins and her husband Rick, and Elizabeth James; two brothers, Eugene McDermott and Lloyd McDermott; 29 grandchildren, and 55 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Leland McDermott, Marie Carlson, Naomi McDermott, and William McDermott.

The family wishes to express special thanks to Aspen Ridge Rehabilitation and Vista Care Hospice for the loving care they gave to mom.
