" On May 27th, 1917, the British steamer SS Dartmoor, on a voyage from Bone via Gibraltar to Garston with a cargo of ore, was sunk by the German submarine UC-50 (Rudolf Seuffer), 35 miles southeast of Fastnet. 25 persons were killed."
