Funeral for Albert K. Blakemore, 69, of Sheridan, Wyo., a former Larkspur resident, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Harry M. Williams Mortuary, San Rafael, conducted by Marin Lodge 191, Free and Accepted Masons.
A native of Castle Rock, Colo., he was reared in Las Vegas, N.M., and operated a funeral home there for many years. He became an appliance salesman when he moved to Larkspur about 1950.
He left Larkspur in 1962 and then retired the next year while living in Santa Rosa. A short time later, he moved to Wyoming.
His wife, Jean Blakemore died in 1953.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Forest Croll of San Antonio, Tex., Mrs. Barbara Sales of Sheridan and Mrs. Richard Jordan of Santa Rosa; a son, Lt. James E. Blakemore of the Navy, and 15 grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mount Tamalpais Cemtery.

Note: although the obituary says he was born in Castle Rock, Colorado (eastern slope south of Denver), he was probably born in New Castle, Colorado (western slope). His father Thomas (born in England) was a prominent undertaker in Aspen in the early 20th century.
