GLENS FALLS -- Edna F. Bentley, 88, lifelong resident of the Glens Falls area, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2005, at Wesley Health Care Facility in Saratoga Springs.

Born on Sept. 20, 1916, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Emile and Floyce (Prosser) Blanchard.

Edna married Phillip L. Bentley on March 21, 1933, in Glens Falls.

At one time she and her husband owned and operated the A & W Restaurant in Lake George.

She enjoyed spending time with her husband in Lake George and traveling to Florida, until Phillip's death in 1975.

Edna was a former member of the Ladies Guild of the First Presbyterian Church in Glens Falls. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed bowling and crocheting. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Phillip, on Jan. 29, 1975; her infant son, Gary; a sister, Harriet Powers; and two brothers, Ralph Blanchard and Emile "Bud" Blanchard.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., on Friday, April 22, at Singleton-Healy Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road, Queensbury.

Burial will follow at Pine View Cemetery.
