Abby Elizabeth Blanchet, 81, of Medina, died Wednesday at the Medina Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Her husband, Harvey Blanchet Sr., died April 13,1961.
Born Dec. 24,1899 in Boston, Mass., her parents were the late Frank and Abby O'Mahaney Holden. She lived there most of her life and came to this area about 25 years ago. Mrs. Blanchet was a member of the Sacred Heart Church.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Harvey Blanchet Jr. (Florence) of Medina; three grandchildren, and six greatgrandchildren.
There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with a mass of Christian burial at Sacred Heart Church with Msgr. Eugene Marcinkiewicz officiating. Burial will be in Hartland Cemetery, Gasport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Medina Memorial Hospital Long Term Care.
Arrangements are being made through the Gulinski Funeral Home.
