Born in Suffield, Jean was the daughter of the late Charles and May (Obram) Blaney.
Jean had resided in Madison since 1980 and had previously lived in Enfield and Somers. She was a communicant of Saint Margaret Church in Madison. In her leisure time, Jean was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Bridge with her close friends.
A loving mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, Jean is survived by her son, Ralph D. August; her sister Doris Blaney Kwiecienski of Enfield; her granddaughters, Tina August Polinsky and her husband Matthew and Nicole August Campos and her husband Noel; and her great granddaughter, Dakota Campos. She was predeceased by her daughter, Dierdre August Fischer; her brother, Philip Blaney; and her sister Virginia Purdy.
Family and friends will gather on Friday, March 20 by 9 a.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels for a procession to Holy Family Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m.
Burial will be held in Hazardville Cemetery.
Jean's family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, March 19 from 4-7 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield.
