Franz "Frank" Blank, 65, of Meriden, died unexpectedly at his home Friday, (September 28, 2001). Born in Blauberg, Germany, he came to this country in 1957 and had resided in Meriden for the past 23 years. Mr. Blank was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Co. in Middletown, CT; and East Hartford, CT; for some 20 years, retiring in 1986. He was an avid bowler at Holiday Lanes in Manchester. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Carol and Roland LaScala of Heath, OH, Heidi and Jason Johnson of Unity, ME; a son, Mark A. Blank of Stafford Springs, CT; three granddaughters, Melissa Saucier of Unity, ME, Celeste and Olivia LaScala, both of Heath, OH; three sisters; a brother; several nieces and nephews.
