Besides his parents Giovanni and Elvira, he was predeceased by his brothers, Angelo and Chester. Johnny is survived and lovingly remembered by his sister, Anna Ashmore; his business partner and very best friend, Barry Matthews; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Johnny owned and operated Red Rose Florist for many years, his kindness and generosity will be remembered always.

A Memorial Mass was celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian & English Catholic Church, 1714 - 14 Avenue N.E., on Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Jimmy Puttananickal CFIC, celebrant. Followed by a reception at the Church. The Inurnment follow ed at 1:00 p.m. at Queen's Park Cemetery, St. Joseph's Catholic Section, where John will be reunited with his mother, Elvira and his brother, Chester.
