Adela E. Blatz, 76, of 21211 Highway 57, Kiel, died Friday afternoon at her home. She had been in ill health for the past several months.
The former Adela Wagner was born Aug. 30, 1906, in St. Peter, a daughter of Michael and Anna Koenig Wagner. She attended parochial school in St. Peter. She married Gregor Blatz on Sept. 17, 1929, at St. Peter Catholic Church in St. Peter. The couple lived in the Johnsburg area and in New Holstein before moving to the Town of Schleswig. The couple celebrated their golden anniversary in 1979. Mrs. Blatz was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel and the Christian Mothers Society.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. James (Mary Jane) Platz of Howards Grove, and Mrs. James (Jerriann) Edries of Kiel; three sons, Glenroy of Kiel, Marvin of rural Kiel, and Eugene of St. Nazianz; 28 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Alma Wollersheim and Mrs. Victor Braun, both of St. Peter, and Mrs. Marcelline Colby of Fond du Lac, and two brothers, Lawrence and Jerome Wagner both of Fond du Lac.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one grandchild.
The funeral Mass will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Francis Kerscher, pastor, will be celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
