Mt. Calvary Resident Dies at Age of 65. Clarence Blatz Rites Set at St. Michael’s Church, Dotyville. Clarence Blatz, 65, Mt. Calvary, R. 1, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 11 p.m. Saturday at his home.

Born in St. Peter Nov. 15, 1898, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward L. Blatz he was married Sept. 25, 1923, to Dora Gilgenbach. Mr. Blatz was engaged in farming. He was a member of St. Michael’s church, Dotyville, and a member of the Holy Name society.

Survivors include his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Cyril Braun, Dotyville, and Miss Celine Blatz, San Francisco; three sons, Edward Blatz, city, Leo Blatz, Eden, and Frank Petrie, a foster-son, at home; his father, Edward L. Blatz, city; one sister, Mrs. Alvina Reed, Chicago; and eight grandchildren. Additional survivors include three stepbrothers, Raymond Blatz, Chilton, Larry Blatz, Milwaukee, and Jerry Blatz, Dotyville; and a stepsister, Mrs. James Blackmore, Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his mother and one brother.

The body is in state at the Zacherl Funeral home where services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and at 10 a.m. at St. Michael’s church, Dotyville. The Rev. John Albinger will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael’s cemetery.

Funeral services for Clarence Blatz were held this morning at the Zacherl Funeral home and St. Michael’s church in Dotyville. The Rev. John Albinger officiated and burial was in the church cemetery. He was the son of Joseph and Ann Simon Blatz.

Surviving him are his widow, Dora; his father; three sons, Edward, Fond du Lac and Clarence and Eugene, Dotyville; two daughters, Mrs. Cyril Braun, Dotyville, and Miss Celine Blatz, San Francisco; three brothers, Edwin Blatz, Fond du Lac, Frank Petrie, Calvary, and Leo Blatz, Eden; one sister, Mrs. Alvina Reed, Chicago; eight grandchildren, three step-brothers, Raymond Blatz, Chilton, Larry Blatz, Milwaukee, and Jerry Blatz, Dotyville; and one step-sister, Mrs. James Blackmore, Armstrong.

Honorary pallbearers were August Kohlman, Fred Leonard, Tim O’Laughlin, Leo O’Laughlin, Joe Mertes, and Leo Kramer. Active pallbearers were Robert Abhold, Joseph Taff, Gerry Huberty, Fred Baganz, Alfred Baganz and Anton Goebel.

Persons attending were from San Francisco, Chicago, Milwaukee, Chilton and the surrounding area.
