He was preceded in death by his mother, Kate Williams Bledsoe, and his father, William Bledsoe, and is survived by one daughter. He graduated from Speedwell High School in Virginia at the age of 16, attended Emory & Henry College, then transferred to East Tennessee State University where he earned degrees in business and broadcasting. He was a member of the National Debate team, played center position on the basketball team and was an avid tennis player and instructor. Hen enjoyed boating and horseback riding. He served as a captain in the U.S. Army. He then followed his heart's first love, a country music career and with his resonant, baritone voice, entertained fans throughout the United States, traveling with his band for ten years. Among his numerous achievements, he managed radio stations and was an announcer at Opryland. Following the birth of his daughter, he owned and managed rental properties until the time of his death. He was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God Church in Hendersonville.
