Our beloved friend, father, grandfather Bert R. Blood passed away June 20, 2017 at home in West Valley City with his two best friends by his side after fighting pneumonia.

Bert was born in Midway, Utah on October 3, 1930, the 4th child of Roswell and Hazel McNaughtan Blood.

He graduated from Wasatch High in 1948 and worked with his father on the dairy farm. His father was disabled and Bert cared for him until he passed. After selling the dairy Bert bought a truck and started driving across the country. He did this until he retired about 2010.

Bert learned to fly and loved flying over the Heber Valley for fun as well as crop dusting. He had some very good stories about his flying days.

Bert was a good father, a very hard worker, a kind and gentle man but didn’t like excuses for anything.

If you could ask him right now what he loved he would tell you women and whiskey. He lived hard and loved life, family and his friends.

Bert was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Ray, Florence and Ethel. He leaves his children, Alfred Lance Blood of Chandler, AZ and Trisha Al Gaines of Salt Lake City, 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and many, many friends.

There will be a graveside service at 1:00PM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at the Midway City Cemetery (650 W. 500 S., Midway, Utah).
