FORMER POLICEMAN DIED AT SEWICKLY HOME
Clair Bloom, a former Chief of Police of this place died following a 30 minute illness at his home in Sewickly, Monday , August 5.
Mr. Bloom went to Beaver County in 1932 and in 1940 began his association with the American Bridge Company as a member of the industrial police force.
Born in Clearfield August 4, 1890, a son of Zane W. and Mary Muldoon Bloom, he was married to Pearl Johnson of Reynoldsville. Mr. Bloom retired several years ago. Surviving besides his wife and mother, Mrs. Mrs. Mary Muldoon Bloom, are the following: Three sons, Ray L. of Washington, Pa.; James of Crafton; and Zane of Norfolk; four daughters: Mrs. Thomas Russell of Fair Oaks; Ellen Bloom of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Robert Duffee of Ridgway; Mrs. Robert Broutot of Allison Park.
Also surviving are two brothers, Paul and Glenn Bloom of Punxsutawney; three sisters, Mrs. G.W. Hockenberry and Mrs. H. E. Burns of Punxsutawney; and Mrs. C.E. Benedict of Pearisburg, Va., and seventeen grandchildren.
Services were held at two o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the Irbine Funeral Home in Sewickley. Burial was in the Allegheny Memorial Cemetery near Sewickly.
