Karen L. Adkins, 63, of Goshen, died at her home on Sunday morning, December 3, 2005, after a long illness.
She was born December 30, 1941, in Bemidji, Minnesota, to Sam and Myra (Tinkey) Bloomfield. She married Don Grise in 1962. He died in 1978. In 1985 she married Blaine Adkins in Goshen. He survives.
Mrs. Adkins was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Blaine, her parents, Sam and Myra Bloomfield of Syracuse, a daughter, Donna (Ron) Sharp of Osceola, Indiana; two sons, Myron (Dalia) Grise and Donald Grise, both of Goshen; a stepdaughter, Audrey (Stan) Miller of Millersburg; two stepsons, Danny Adkins of Middlebury and Steve Grise of Boston, Massachusetts; and eight grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Carleen Peachy of Syracuse and two brothers, Curtis Tinkey of California and Byron Tinkey of Sturgis, Michigan.
Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 6, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home and 9 to 10 a.m., Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
A prayer vigil will be conducted 7 p.m, Tuesday at the funeral home.
Rev. John Delaney, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, will officiate the 10 a.m. funeral service on Wednesday, December 7, 2005, at the church.
Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
