Name: Jesse P. Blount
Birth: 19 Sep 1928
Death: 18 Feb 2008 - Racine, Meigs, Ohio
Civil: West Virginia

Jesse Paul Blount, age 79, formerly of Columbus, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008, in Bonita Springs, Fl, after a brief illness.

Paul was born on September 19, 1928, in Ward, WV, to the late Robert and Mary Blount.

Paul moved to Columbus and began a career with Columbus Heating and Ventilation from which he retired after 38 years of dedicated service.

After retirement Paul and his wife Mae moved into their new home on the Ohio River which they had built prior to Paul's retirement. They shared wonderful times on the river visiting with neighbors and family and friends who would stop in to say hello. Paul and Mae also traveled in their motor home throughout the United States and Canada after his retirement, many times with other couples. For the past 17 years Paul and Mae would spend their winters in Ft. Myers, FL at the Coach Light Manor where Paul was on the board and active in many of the community's functions.

Paul was a good, Christian man and a member of Asbury UM Church. He was also a member of Sheetmetal Workers Union Local #98 and Grove City Lodge F&AM #689. Paul was a real handyman and could fix or build anything, but his greatest creation was his family and the wonderful set of values and love he displayed constantly; whether with simple advice or a big hug and smile.

Paul will be missed dearly by his loving wife of 59 years, Mae; his sons, Richard (Robin), John (Molly) and Mike Blount; daughters, Patricia (Scott) Church and Paula (David) Black; Paul was "Grandpa" to Richie and Michael Blount, Lisa Hans, Brian Blount, Aimee Forster, Chad and Tara Blount, Jessie and Emily Church, and Christopher and Sara Black; and 9 great-grandchildren; many other family members and terrific friends and neighbors.

In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his 4 brothers Ronald, Donald, Eugene, and Harry Blount and granddaughter Tracy Harkness.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the SCHOEDINGER-NORRIS CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, where the funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday. Pastor Bob Robinson will officiate.

Interment at Sunset Cemetery.

Contributions may be made in Paul's memory to Hope Hospice, 27200 Imperial Parkway, Bonita Springs, FL 34135.
