Mother Corine Blue Whittington was born on January 15, 1921 in Rains, South Carolina, the daughter of the late Mary Alice Blue. The gates of heaven opened to welcome her home on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at her residence.
At an early age she joined St. Luke Baptist Church and later she joined Poplar Creek Baptist Church in Gaddy’s Mill. She was the president of the Usher Board and a faithful member until her health declined. She worked as the cafeteria manager at Columbus High School and Lake View Middle School until she retired.
Mother Corine was married to the late Truss Whittington, to this union they were blessed with four children: Mary Ruth Wilson, Bridget Abraham, Eutha Cousar and Kenneth Whittington.
Preceding her in death was one daughter, Mary Ruth Wilson; her mother, Mary Alice Blue; one granddaughter, Miracle Simon; one sister, Riley Mae Blue Jones and three brothers, David Blue, Pearlie Blue and Farmer Blue.
