Mr. Blue, 70, was the son of the late Mr. Sam Blue, Sr. and the late Louise Melvin of Mars Bluff, Florence County, South Carolina was born on December 12, 1940 and he departed this life on October 13, 2011, after an extended illness at Carolinas Hospital System.
He was educated in the Florence County Public schools. "SPUDAH" as he was called by family and his many friends was employed with Ed Turner Chicken Basket, Southern Aire in Darlington, and for 30 years at the Florence Country Club.
Mr. Blue was a faithful member of the Monumental Missionary Baptist Church until the time of this death. He was married into Holy Matrimony to the former Lorena Hines for over 50 years.
Those left to cherish his memory are: A devoted wife, Lorena H. Blue of the home; six children Thair (Willie) Bennett of Dovesville, Mamie Blue of Florence, Rev. Jacqueline Blue of Newton Center, MA, Felecia (Lester) McElveen of Conway, Chauncey H. (Veronica) of Florence, and TeBryiah Blue of the home; 10 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Additionally, he leaves five siblings: Rev. Jim D. (Debra) Blue, Sr. of Hartsville, Elder Edwin Blue of Florence, Ben (Wanda) Blue of Stone Mountain, GA, Ellen (Ronald) Gary of Peiora, AZ, and Bernice King of Baltimore, MD. Lastly, Amy Cooper, Aunt and a special friend, James Mack both of Florence and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
A special thanks to the Pee Dee Cardiology, Floyd Medical Group, Inman Family Medicine, Pee Dee Nephrology LLP, Carolinas Health and Dr. Larry Rabon (Urology) Carolinas Hospital System, McLeod Hospital and Allies Florist. The family will receive friends at the on 1106 Lewis Lane, Woodmont Subdivision.
