WHITINSVILLE - Alice (Cowburn) Bolivar, 95, died at home, Thursday, January 10, 2012. Her husband, Edwin N. Bolivar, died in 1984. She is survived by a granddaughter, Lisa Davignon, and her husband, Bill, of Whitinsville; a grandson, Eric J. Bolivar, and his wife, Rose, of Milford; a great grandson, Kris; daughter-in-law, Karlene Bolivar, of Whitinsville; and sister-in-law, Ruby LeBlanc, of West Covina, CA. She was predeceased by a son, James E. Bolivar.
Mrs. Bolivar was born in Whitinsville, August 14, 1917, the daughter of Fred and Annie (Garnett) Cowburn, and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Northbridge High School in 1935, once worked at the former Whitin Machine Works, and was a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church in Whitinsville.
Mrs. Bolivar's funeral and burial in Pine Grove Cemetery will be private. Calling hours will be 6-8 PM, Monday, January 14, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville.
