Faye Magdeline was born on May 2, 1919 in St Paul to Joseph & Stephania (nee Szawelska) Zoch. As a young woman, Faye lived briefly in San Francisco and Michigan. She worked for Brown and Bigelow in St Paul while earning her cosmetology license. She owned a beauty shop in St Paul on Shelby Avenue. She later worked for A.J. Dahl and then Shaffer Toy Company, both in New Hope. In her earlier years Faye enjoyed fishing. She was an avid horse rider and loved to dance especially at the Prom Ballroom in St Paul. Faye also enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, and going to the casino with her brother and sister-in-law.
Faye is survived by son, Ron & Linda Bombeck, White Bear; daughter, Marietta "Mari" (nee Hughes) & Robert Hughes, Buffalo, grandchildren: Daniel and Carolyn Bombeck, and Jacqueline and Meghan Hughes; siblings: Valerie Kotasek, Lorraine Sullivan, both St Paul, Marcel & Elaine Zoch, Little Canada, and Jim & Dorothy Zoch, Maplewood; brother-in-law, Alvin Clasemann, St Paul; many nieces; nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by parents; siblings: Joseph, Jr. "Pep" Zoch, Dolly Steinecker, Stephanie Clasemann and infant Emily Zoch.
A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 3rd at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 7025 Halifax Avenue N, Brooklyn Center with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial is at Zion Cemetery in Buffalo.
