Anthony was serving in the US Army Reserves, prior to going into active duty.
Arriving in Vietnam 24 April 1969, Anthony was assigned to A Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, USARV. Anthony died as a result of multiple fragmentation wounds to the body from a hostile explosive device, when A Company was on a patrol and encountered hostile forces.
Survived by his wife, Adela R Bongo of Apt #302, 1416 Middle St, Honolulu, HI and his parents; Mr & Mrs Gregorio Bongo of Lot B-52, Apuupus Road, Waianae, HI.
