Dolores (Barton) Bongo, 83, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at the Francis House with her family by her side. A graduate of Cortland State, Dolores was a 5th grade teacher at Delaware School. A superb homemaker, she dearly loved her family, friends, and enjoyed teaching. Dolores was a communicant of St. Charles of Borromeo Church. Predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Joseph in 2008 and her brother, James Barton.

Dolores is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Ben) Gage of San Diego, CA; two sons, James (Betsy) Bongo of Winterville, NC and Brian Bongo of Syracuse; sister, Marilyn (Phil) Miller of Chicago; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Theresa Bongo Scuderi of Liverpool; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday 9 a.m. at FARONE & SON FUNERAL HOME and 10 a.m. in St. Charles of Borromeo Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Burial will follow in Veterans Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m.at the funeral home, 1500 Park Street.

Contributions may be made to Francis House or American Cancer Society.
