Ronnie Charles Bonner, Jr. was born on November 25, 1968 to Jackie Bonner-Steward, and Ronnie Charles Bonner. Raised by Jerry Steward, big brother to his three sisters.

On September 7, 1969, the senior usherboard decided to take Ronnie under their wings and adopted him as their Godchild. He was christened by the late Rev. Robert Nesby, and later baptized at First Institutional Baptist Church where He joined the Gospel Celebration Youth Choir and at that time was the smallest in the group, living up to one of his childhood nick names (peewee). He attended elementary school at Calvary Academy Christian School, after graduating he attended South Mountain and Central High Schools. While attending Calvary Academy in 1980 he was discovered by the Phoenix Boys Choir and became one of their lead soloists. He toured with the choir to San Diego, California, the City of Taipei, Hong Kong, and Honolulu, Hawaii.

Ronnie was a unique person; he loved life, family and people in general. He never met a stranger. He also loved dancing, and modeling, he gave his best with every performance. I can't say that Ronnie wouldn't want you to be sad today because he always wanted his props. But he would want you to walk away today remembering that you once knew a star that sparkled He was never one to hold his head down or sit on the back row. He was always excited for the other person, because he was always looking deep into the person to see if there was any little spark of uniqueness, whether it was in the way they dressed, walked or simply styled their hair. The last time we spoke with Ronnie was Sunday night February 6, and he told me his mother, and his grandmother Ruby to tell all of his family that he loved them very much and wanted to see them all very soon. Well he will see some sooner than others.

He was preceded in death by his father Ronnie Charles Bonner, grandfather Alfonzo Jefferson, beloved grandmother Doris (nanny) Womack, and uncle Joe Hill. Immediate family left to cherish his memory, his parents Jackie and Jerry Steward, loving sisters Stacey, Audrey, and Jerilynn Steward, nieces Ceaira Sierra, Kyrair James, grandmothers Ruby Jefferson, and Mabel Blair, great-grandmother Annie Mae (gaga) Johnson, special friend Christopher, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Ronnie C. Bonner Jr. died on February 9, 2005. Arrangements under the direction of Resthaven Park Mortuary & Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ, 602.437.0436.
