Clifford Avard “Cliff” Bonnyman - 65, Truro, passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax. Born in Truro, he was the youngest son of the late Clifford and Hazel (Hall) Bonnyman.

He was a diesel mechanic by trade and worked for Mac Trucks in Dartmouth and Nova Enterprises and Scotsburn Dairy in Truro. Cliff also enjoyed many years as a volunteer with Truro Fire Brigade.

He is survived by his daughter, Crista (Kevin); son, Brad (Cathy); grandsons, Kaleb and Liam Free, all of Calgary, Alberta; sister, Elizabeth (Jamie) Durning; step-mother, Bertha Bonnyman; step-sister, Judy (Warren) Ettinger; sister-in-law, Carol (Bruce) Wynn, all of Truro; sister-in-law, Eloise (Herman) Murphy, Fredericton, New Brunswick; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Judy (Stevens) (1990); parents-in-law, Lloyd and Hilda Stevens; brother, Bill (2002). The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, and Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax, for the care and kindness shown to Cliff during the past two months.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation that will be held 7-9 p.m., Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Truro Fire Hall, Promenade Room (back entrance). Private family interment will be held in Belmont Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Cliff’s memory to Truro Fire Brigade, P.O. Box 34, Truro, NS B2N 5B6 or a charity of choice are welcomed. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
