Joyce Margaret Adkins, 84, of Huntington, WV passed away Friday, February 27, 2009 at her residence. She was born November 25, 1924, in Waburn, England, a daughter of the late Walter Edwin and Lillian Ewing Boon. A son, Danny Austin Adkins, a sister and a brother, also preceded her in death.

She was a retired cook for the Cabell County Board of Education, a member of Rock of Ages Baptist Church, Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 9738, and the Britannia Club.

Survivors include
her husband, Cebert Adkins;
one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Bruce Damron of Huntington;
two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ronald and Shirley Adkins, and Darrell Adkins all of Proctorville, Ohio;
a brother, Ronald Boon of Coventry, England;
four brothers-in-law, Edward Adkins, Clarence Adkins, David Adkins and Cletis Adkins all of northern Ohio;
six grandchildren, Robbie Elza of Huntington, Joyce and Steve Brooks of Proctorville, Travis Adkins and Taylor Adkins both of Milton, and Chad Damron of Huntington;
four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Elza, Kansas Haley Brooks, Seth Damron and Evan Damron;
several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service at Chapman's Mortuary, with Rev. David Adkins officiating. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.
