Darlene Deeds, 87, wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2016.
All her siblings and parents have preceded her to heaven as have the eight Weasma grandchildren. There are two living grandchildren – Jeremy and Emilee Gillis of Mountain Home, ID.
Darlene was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on June 4, 1929. The daughter of Ellsworth Valentine Borah and Clarinda Martin Borah. Darlene had two sisters and three brothers. At an early age, the family moved to Twin Falls, Idaho where she met Howard Deeds who was from Richfield, Idaho. Darlene graduated from Twin Falls High School and the former Links School of Business.
Darlene married Howard Deeds June 17, 1950. They had three children, Marsha (Weasma), Steven Deeds, and Merla (Gillis). Darlene raised her children in Boise, loved roses and dachshunds. She worked for the State of Idaho as an enumerator and spent time working for Albertson's. She also helped her husband Howard with his tax business. Darlene loved traveling with Howard, and Boise State. They were married for 58 years, prior to Howard's death on June 12, 1997.
She was a member of Eagles Lodge, Hillcrest Trinity Church, at Boise, Idaho. She was the last original homeowner in the Franklin Park subdivision.
A celebration of Darlene's life will take place at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 12, at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel. A viewing will be held 1 hour prior to the service and burial will follow at Morris Hill Cemetery. Officiating will be Pastor Dorothy Marshall from Hillcrest Trinity Church.
Darlene asked that, "there be no tears or grief. Please celebrate my life in a joyful manor by wearing bright cheerful clothes. Bring your favorite rose! I will be at peace now in Heaven, with the love of my life Howard, all of my loved ones, and my cherished dachshunds."
Memorials may be made to Idaho Rose Society, Memorial garden in Julia Davis Park, Hillcrest Trinity Church, Idaho Humane Society, or the Eagles Lodge, all in Boise, Idaho.
