Mary Louise Bordelon Alexander, age 84, of Harvey, LA, passed away on Monday March 21, 2016.
She was the loving wife of 62 years to the late Stanley Frances Alexander. Mary was the beloved mother of Dean G. Alexander (wife Robin), Michael J. Alexander (wife Denise), Glenn J. Alexander (Rhonda), Laura Alexander Johnson (husband Sean), and the late Kerry J. Alexander and Jennifer Ann Alexander. Grandmother of Michael J. Alexander Jr. (wife Vanessa), Mandi Alexander, Eric Alexander, Lindsay Alexander, Dean G. Alexander Jr., Audrey Rose Johnson and Ian Johnson. Great-grandmother of Mason Alexander and Landen Alexander. She was the daughter of the late Elie Bordelon and Mathilda M. Bordelon. Sister of Kenneth P. Bordelon, the late Gerald L. Bordelon and Aubrey J. Bordelon.
Born and raised on a farm in Hessmer, LA (Avoyelles Parish), Mary moved to the city of New Orleans with her cousin Dorothy Valdin after graduating high school, where they worked and lived until she was married in 1953 and began to raise a family. As the family expanded, she and her husband decided to move out of the city to the Westbank of Jefferson Parish in 1960, where she has resided for the last 56 years.
Mary was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family which always came first. Mary was a parishioner of St. John Bosco Catholic Church for the last 30 years. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the the visitation at MOTHE FUNERAL HOMES, 2100 Westbank Expy., Harvey, LA on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 10 AM to 1:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will follow in the funeral home chapel. Interment Westlawn Memorial Park.
