Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Strasburg with Rev. Jason Signalness officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, March 10, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home, Linton, where there will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
Visitation will continue for one hour before service time on Saturday.
Phyllis was born in Linton, ND on February 22, 1935, the daughter of Ignatz R. and Barbara (Jangula) Bosch. She married John P. Baumgartner and together they had eight children. She raised her family in North Dakota and Butte, Montana, returning to the Baumgartner homestead where her son, John Jay still lives today.
Phyllis worked as a CNA at the Strasburg Care Center and was active in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church and a member of St. Mary's Branch Society. She later moved to Bismarck, ND, where she worked at Medcenter One. After retiring she moved back to the family farm. Phyllis loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her hobbies included Bingo, games, puzzles and crocheting. She also enjoyed music, dancing, trail rides, and was a member of the Beaver Valley Horse Club.
Phyllis is survived by her six children: Cathy (Norman) Ackerman, Bismarck, Dina Baumgartner, Bismarck, Cindy (Jacob) Vetter, Milwaukie, OR, Laura (Ron) Holzer, Linton, Johnny Jay Baumgartner (special friend Bernice Schumacher), Strasburg, Betty (Michael) Samuelson, Portland, OR; daughter-in-law, Amanda Baumgartner: 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; Aunt Katie Fischer, Butte, MT; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary, one son, Allan M. Baumgartner, her parents, Ignatz R. and Barbara R. Bosch, sister, Alice Nagel, brother, Robert I. Bosch and several aunts and uncles.
