She was born July 25, 1918, in Hoisington, to Alois and Ethel Tickel Bosch, and spent most of her life in Topeka. She was a secretary and had worked for Josten's Printing and Publishing for 22 years.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
She married Roland H. Barney on Jan. 27, 1942, in Lawrence. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Linda Wiseman, Topeka; a brother, Walter Bosch, Topeka; sisters Ruth Wheeler, Albuquerque, N.M., and Velma Pease, Overland Park; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Barney will lie in state after 3 p.m. today at the mortuary.
