Ali Bourguiba was the father of Habib Bourguiba (q.v.), the first President of Tunisia. He had served as a Lieutenant in the Army of the Bey. Along with his wife, Fatima (q.v.), he is buried in the same mausoleum as his distinguished son, under the dome on the South (left) side.
