In about 1883 the Bousman family, including their four children, immigrated to the United States, settling on a farm in Brussels Township, Door County, Wisconsin, near the homes of Marie Céline's brothers, Jean Francois (Frank) and Constant Flemal.
Marie Céline died approximately three years after arrival in the U.S. Alexander remarried in 1892 to the widow Caroline (Hella) Renquin Piton Gigot. Upon his death in 1917 Alexander was buried in St. Michael Cemetery at Misiere, Brussels Township.
