Mrs. Bowden was born in Norfolk. She had retired from the Naval Supply Center. She was a member of the Virginia Association for the Blind.
Survivors include two daughters, Jacqueline B. Lichtenberg and Betty Roche, both of Norfolk; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.
