MARY P. BARBER
Mary P. Barber, 88, of South New Berlin passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015, at the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Mary was born on May 20, 1927 in Jordanville, NY the daughter of Merritt and Margaret (Cobb) Bowers. In 1947 she and her husband purchased the farm on West Hill where she continued to make her home. Over the years Mary has worked for Victory Markets, drove school bus for So. New Berlin school and worked at P&G for a period of 10 years.
Mary was an easy going individual who was good with people and liked by all. She enjoyed nature, reading, snowmobiling, knitting and crocheting.
On October 9, 1943 she married Raymond Barber who passed away January 19, 1992. She is survived by her children; Cheryl Jones of Norwich, Raymond Barber Jr. of Rome, Darlene Barber of So. New Berlin, her grandchildren Nathan Barber and wife Bethany, Heather VanAuken and husband Doug, Lisa Franklin and husband Brandon, Douglas Jones Jr. and wife Diana, Ted Jones, Jeff Jones and Kevin Jones and wife Teresa. Also surviving are 11 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Raymond she was predeceased by her sister June Kuhn and her brothers Bill and Robert Bowers.
A private funeral service for Mary will be held from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Kurt Funke will officiate. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery of South New Berlin.
