2013 obituary. AUGUSTA -- Norrine B. Arnold, 78, of Augusta died peacefully on Friday, April 12, at MaineGeneral Medical Center after a long illness, in the company of her loving family. She was born on Dec. 26, 1934, in Augusta, to Gladys (Carter) and Robert McFarland. Norrine grew up in Yarmouth, and graduated from Yarmouth Academy. Unsure what she wanted to be when she grew up, she was successful in many areas. She worked in management at the Journal Inquirer in Rockville, Conn., for many years, ran her own Interior design company and dabbled in politics. She was an accomplished classical pianist and wonderfully creative. There was never an art project she shied away from. She was a member of the Faith Christian Church in Gardiner, and enjoyed studying the Bible and the fellowship of her faith community. She is predeceased by loving husbands Eugene Martinelli and Walter Arnold [1918-2009]; beloved daughter Norrine Stalnik; and best friend and sister Joanne Lathrop. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 14, at Faith Christian Church, 280 Brunswick Ave., in Gardiner. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the CCU staff at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Dr. Clint Delashaw, Dr. John Smith and Dr. Laura Caron, as well as the wonderful caring staff at the Kindred Healthcare facility where she has resided in recent weeks.
