Late of Romeoville, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, May 3, 2014. John was born in Chicago.

Preceded in death by his parents John and Hannah (Driscoll) Bowler and a brother Joseph P. Bowler.

Survived by his loving wife of 47 ½ years Patricia (Durkin), four devoted children David (Laura), Martin (Sara), Kathleen (Stephen) Kadolph and Kerry (Thomas) Shanahan, proud grandfather of seven Kevin, Caitlin, John F., Alice, Anne, John L. and Kathleen, three brothers Edward, Michael and Thomas (Rose) Bowler, one sister Mary Ann (late Sam) Poma. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Wounded Warriors or American Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Services will be held Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 9:15am in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel to St. Bernard Church, Joliet for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Interment Private.
