E. St. Louis, IL Daily Journal dated January 30, 1923: DEATH PARTS PAIR WEDDED FOR 59 YEARS - Mrs. Ellen B. Beedle, 82, Dies at O'Fallon -- O'Fallon, Jan. 28 -- (Special) -- Mrs. Ellen Bowler Beedle, nee Bowler, wife of Sam Beedle, died at her home in the city Wednesday evening at 9:45 p.m. at the age of 82 years, 1 month, and 14 days. The deceased was born in O'Fallon township December 14, 1842 and is among the oldest residents of this city. She was united in marriage to Sam H. Beedle in O'Fallon township December 13, 1864 who survived her. To this union was born the following children whom survive: Horace G. Beedle and Hubert B. Beedle of St. Louis; Samuel S. Beedle of Ridge Prairie, Ill. The following brother and sister also survive, Frank Bowler, of California, and Susan V. Smalley, of Belleville. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held from the Baptist church, Saturday morning at 10 a.m. Rev. Myercough officiating, thence to the Bethel cemetery.
