MIDDLESEX - Eva R. Bowman, 87, of Portal Road, Middlesex died Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at Rowan Court Health and Rehabilitation Center in Barre after a short illness.

Eva was born Sept. 4, 1922, in Longmeadow, Mass., the daughter of Charles and Margaret (Green) Wilkins.

She graduated from St. Michael's High School in Montpelier.

She married Andrew K. Bowman on April 14, 1947, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Montpelier. She was employed with various local employers including Ron's IGA, City Boot Shop, Steve's Market, National Life and Subs n' Such. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Stewart and Pamela Irish of Waterbury. A son Bruce Bowman and his companion Karen Sikorskiof of Alburgh. Also surviving is her former daughter-in-law Carol Hastings of Northfield, her grandchildren Kimberly Dexter and her husband Perley Dexter of Williamstown, Lori Armell and her husband Brian Armell of Monkton, Donna Atkins of Stowe, Crystal Bowman of Montpelier, Scott Irish of Northfield Falls and Valerie Bowman and her companion Guy Dupere of Northfield. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Andrew K. Bowman on Aug. 21, 1999.

Funeral Service will be held Friday March 12, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Barber & Lanier Funeral Home, 139 Main St., Montpelier. Burial will be at Green Mount Cemetery in Montpeleir.

Calling hours will be held Thursday March 11, 2010, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Barber & Lanier Funeral Home.
