Lilly Carolyn Bailey, 71, of Erwin, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Born on December 14, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Helen Bowman. Mrs. Bailey worked as a seamstress at Industrial Garment for 35 years and as a housekeeper at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care for 14 years. She was a faithful member and Bible School worker at Canah Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. She was a very giving person, loved by all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Elmer Bowman and an infant sister.

The family respectfully request the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Lilly Carolyn Bailey in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2016 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Toney Birchfield and Reverend Brain Campbell will officiate. Vocal selections will be provided by Ron Fender and Heavenly Shelton. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00PM and continue until service time on Thursday. A committal service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 22, 2016 at Evergreen Cemetery. Those who wish to attend will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 9:30 AM to go in procession to Evergreen Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Bailey, Ethan Bailey, Gene Roberson, Amos Ledford, Phillip Harris, and Gary Swinehart. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Bailey, David Washburn, Ed Phillips, Benny Blankenship, Curtis Blankenship, and Tommy Brotherton.
