Emma Bowne Padgett, 70, Indianapolis, died Monday in Community Hospital.

The widow of James Padgett, she was a former president of women's auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Flanner & Buchanan Broad Ripple Mortuary. Calling will be two hours before services. Burial will be in Carmel Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons, Roy, Richard and Gary Ayers, and Jim Padgett; daughters, Mary Hoskins, Priscilla Chevalier, and Wanda Gentry; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
