73, Former I-R Inspector
F. Elwood Boyer, 73, Easton R.D. 2, died this morning in Betts Hospital where he was a patient two weeks. He was in failing health eight years.
Mr. Boyer was employed as an inspector for the Ingersoll-Rand Co., retiring in 1959.
Born April 16, 1894 in Easton, he was a son of the late Lewis E. and Henrietta Waltman Boyer.
He was a member of Calvary Memorial Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class of the church, and sang in the church choir. He also was a member of Radiant Star Lodge 606 F & AM; Easton Forest 35, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and Lehigh Consistory, Allentown.
Survivors include his widow, the former Enid G. Davey; two sons, Floyd E. Jr., Lexington KY, Walter R., Redwood City, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Shirley Kovacs, Palmer Township; Mrs. Barbara Duhamel, Cranston, R.I.; five brothers, Ralph W., Bridgeport, PA; S. David Wilson; the Rev. Walter S. Boyer, Allentown; L. Arthur Wilson, and John W., Lemoyne, PA; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Matchette, Hatboro; seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton.

The funeral of F. Elwood Boyer, 73, Easton R.D. 2, who died Tuesday in Betts Hospital, was held this morning at the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton.
The Rev. Robert M. Neely of Calvary Memorial Methodist Church officiated. Internment was in Hay's Cemetery. The pallbearers were Stephen Hutnik, Walter Boyer Jr., Stephen Kovacs, the Rev. Paul Duhamel and Donald and David Boyer.
