GERVIS RAY ARNOLDS HONORED AT PARTY BY THREE HOSTESSES
Mr. and Mrs. Gervis Ray Arnold, who were married June 29, were honored Friday night at a party held at the home of the honoree's parents Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Bozeman, Sr. Mrs. Arnold is the former Marian Anne Bozeman. Mr. Arnold is the son of Mrs. Bessie Arnold. Hostesses for the event were Mrs. Vernon Dixon, Mrs. Samuel Henderson and Mrs. Irvin Kohler. A corsage of pink rosebuds was presented to Mrs. Arnold, while old-fashioned bouquets of summer flowers made effective arrangements throughout the house, and on the serving table. The table was centered with a tiered wedding cake topped by a satin clad bridal doll. After the first piece of cake was cut, Mrs. Dixon served the guests, Mrs. L. E. Painter and Mrs. Harry Hutches Henderson poured. Tea girls included Miss Paula Schoenfeld, Miss Aurora Schoenfeld, Miss Sue O'Neal, Miss Francy Babin, Miss Anne Bozeman, and Miss Joan Anne Kohler.

She passed away at 5:30 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2004, at Capitol Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Baton Rouge. She was 71 and a native and resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and after 8 a.m. Saturday. Religious service at Greenoaks Funeral Home chapel at 10 a.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. Tommy French. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. She is survived by a son, Gervis Ray "Butch" Arnold Jr. and his wife, Laura, of Denham Springs; a sister, Florence "Shine" Dixon and her husband, Vernon, of Baton Rouge; and four brothers, Justin Darby Bozeman Sr. of Greenwell Springs, Paul Donald Bozeman Sr. and Larry Lee Bozeman Sr., both of Pride, and Francis Eugene Bozeman Sr. of Greenwell Springs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gervis Ray "Buddy" Arnold Sr.; a son, Randall Lee Lanier; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bozeman Sr.; four brothers, Harry Bozeman Jr., Joseph Walker Bozeman Sr. and infants, Ronald and Darryl Bozeman; and three sisters, Kathyrn Kohler, Beverly Babin and Patsy Lanier.
