VJ Allen, 90, a resident of Chaffee, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Chaffee Nursing Center.
She was born May 13, 1923 in Morley, MO to the late William O. and Viola (Nanney) Brasher.
VJ and Coach James Allen were married November 25, 1948 at Cape Girardeau, MO.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, National Secretary Association member and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was secretary and bookkeeper for Mac Stovall Block and Brick.
VJ is survived by a nephew, Bradley Joe Teichman of Chaffee, MO; three nieces, Sharon L. Brasher of Horseshoe Bend, AR, Mary C. Williford and Joyce; sister-in-law, Margaret Brasher of Horseshoe Bend, AR.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Coach James Allen; two brothers and one sister.
Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
