Joyce E. Applegate, 91, Luray, died Friday, April 26, 2013, at Parkview Care Center, Osborne.
She was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Russell County to Elmer Everett and Edna Viola (Hatton) Bratton.
She worked for USD 392 as a school nurse, was an Osborne County health nurse and worked for various physicians.
Survivors include two sons, Jack Applegate, Osborne, and Wayne Applegate, Albert Lea, Minn.; three daughters, Nancy Lundy, Hays, Ruth Riley, Valley Falls, and Kristine Lawson, Sapulpa, Okla.; 22 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dail Applegate, in 2002; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Luray United Methodist Church, Luray; burial in Cheyenne Cemetery, rural Luray. Memorials are suggested to Gideons International or Hospice Services Inc., Osborne.
