James E. Braxton of the 3200 block of Lens Ave., died Oct. 4, 2003, in his residence. Born in Washington, D.C., he was a retired sand blaster for Norfolk Naval Shipyard and a former member of St. Mark RUZA Church.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rosetta Braxton; three daughters, Brenda Robinson, Patricia Wood and Dale Mitchell; two sisters, Josephine Frederick and Elizabeth Temple; nine grandchildren; goddaughter, Margaret Bell; special cousin, Uzelless Shannon; best friends, Rudy Felton and Lawrence Crafe; special thanks to Dr. Werner Martins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be held at noon Saturday at Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Frank Cuffee with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
