WINSTON-SALEM - Mr. Jimmie Dale Brewer, 50, of Winston-Salem, formerly of Robbins, a devoted husband and brother, always thinking of others before himself, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was the son of the late James E. and Edna E. Brewer. Mr. Brewer was a member of IBEW Local Chapter 342 and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Jason Thomas Craver. Surviving are his wife, Shirley A. Brewer; sister, Carolyn Jane Bean (Frankie); daughter, Beverly Jane Brewer; stepdaughter, Jennifer Ann Craver; mother-in-law, Mary Ann Long; and sister-in-law, Kathy Mayberry. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Bethel United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home for their care and support.
