Minnie May Bowen Dies at Townsend

Townsend, Nov 19 - Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie May Bowen, 50, former clerk and recorder of Broadwater county, who died here Saturday morning at the home of her mother, Mrs. Maria Brisbin, after a lingering illness of many months.

Minnie May Bowen was born in Kansas, May 1, 1882, and moved with her parents to Townsend at age four. On May 26, 1903, she was married to Frank Bown and removed to Michigan in 1914 with her husband and daughter, Frances Marie, Mr. Bowen passing away in Michigan in 1925. The mother and daughter returned to Townsend two years later. In 1930 she was elected clerk and recorder of Broadwater county, which post she held until September of this year, when illness forced her to resign and withdraw her name as a candidate for reelection.

She is survived by her mother, Marie Brisbin, four brothers, Walter Brisbin of East Helena, Roy Brisbin of Townsend, Angus Brisbin of Helena, and Delbert Brisbin of Corvallis; and one sister, Mrs. Henry Houston of Townsend.
