Marie G. Alois (nee: Broderick), 83, of Ellen Lane Glenville, entered the arms of Jesus at her home August 1, 2006, with her loving family at her side.
Marie was born on July 6, 1923 at Ellenburg Depot, NY, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth Patnode Broderick, she grew up in Chateaugay and Plattsburgh, NY. Marie was a graduate of St. John's Academy in Plattsburgh and moved to Schenectady in 1945 to work for General Electric. For many years Mrs. Alois was a Home Health Aide until her illness forced her back but looked forward to returning to her career just several months ago. Marie was intently focused on her family as her life revolved around them. Her pleasures were in keeping a meticulous home, flower gardening and love of all animals, especially cats. Marie was considered throughout her entire life as being "Young at Heart" as evidenced by her involvement with children, animals and family gatherings.

Survivors include her children: two sons, Glenn Alois of Niskayuna and Gary H. (Susan) Alois of Glenville; two daughters, Donna Alois of Glenville and Deborah Alois of Saratoga; three beloved grandchildren, Kelly, Laura and Kurt Alois. Marie is survived by her three sisters; Lillian Murphy of Rio Rancho, NM, Doris "Pud" Breyette and Rachel Broderick, both of Dannemora, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday ( August 5, 2006) 9:15am from the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. East Glenville followed at 10am by a Mass of Christian Burial at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, 400 Saratoga Rd. (Route 50) Glenville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may also call Friday from 5-8pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
