Ruth "Sara" Atkinson, of Irving, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2009. She was born February 23, 1917 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She was a member of First Christian Church in Irving. Preceded in death by her husband Robert T. "Bob" Atkinson, survivors include her sons Robert Atkinson and Frank "Rick" Atkinson; daughter Tecla Gray and husband Jerry; grandchildren Todd, Jennifer, Chris, and Jamie; and great grandchildren Ashlee, Taylor, Jordan, Kylan, Drew, and Brett. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at First Christian Church, 210 E. 6th St. with Rev. Deborah Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens. Visitation: 5-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
