Bromhead was a film executive and one of the pioneers of the British Film. He worked with Gaumont and exhibited Chronophone in 1909 and opened Britain's first modern studio in 1914. Bromhead formed Gaumont British Picture Corporation in 1927 and also acquired other companies such as General Theatre Corp. and Denman Pictures Houses. His nephews Ralph and Michael were both prominent film executives.
