Other survivors include two daughters, Lisa M. (Larry) Butt, Cindy L. (Dennis) Zimpfer all of Piqua; a son, Michael W. Anthony of Ethiopia; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Butt, Meredith Butt, A. J. Zimpfer, Andrew (Maggie) Zimpfer, Aubri (Gary) Bleil; two great grandchildren, Emma Bleil, Benjamin Zimpfer; a sister, Lynda (Herm) Martin of Riverview, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Anthony was a 1950 graduate of Ashland High School in Oregon and earned her bachelor’s degree from Pasadena (California) College in 1954. She was an educator for many years, teaching in public schools in California and in American schools overseas. Brought up in a pastor’s family, she was associated with the Church of the Nazarene She enjoyed reading and traveling, but her family brought the most joy to her life. Along with her husband, Dodie set the examples of how to live, be kind, honest, work hard, believe in prayer and the saving grace of Jesus, and treat others as you would want to be treated.
A private service to honor her life will be at Forest Hill Cemetery with Rev. Jack Chalk and Rev. Larry Butt co-officiating. Arrangements are being provided through the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Upper Miami Valley Young Life, 325 W. Ash St., Piqua, OH 45356.
