Evidence suggests that she was the daughter of Joel Browning Wingate (1800-1842 Nassau County) and his wife Sarah (1808-1860, maiden name unknown but could have been Wilds).

Her first husband was Washington Turner. She married Pulaski Broward after Mr. Turner's death during the Civil War and raised a large family with him. Before that, however, she had two children with Mr. Turner: Daniel B. Turner and Elizabeth "Washie" Turner who was born posthumously.

Washie was one of several wives of William Peter Wright. She probably died around 1885. We don't know where she was buried but I am guessing Washie was buried at the old Broward cemetery
